ColorWall™ Plastic Library

The CSI ColorWall™ Plastic Library provides designers and color managers with “ready made” plastic chips that expand color communication and control across a variety of product segments such as Apparel, Accessories, Athletic, Automotive, Home, Industrial and Packaging.The ColorWall Plastic Library functions in the same manner as the CSI ColorWall. Colors can be selected, given their own name and used on seasonal palettes without the need to custom develop a color in plastic.

The plastic library consists of 197 colors that are excellent visual matches to existing ColorWall colors under multiple light sources (D65, F02, A10, & UL3000). In addition to the ColorWall shades, 16 very popular fluorescent colors are also part of the set. The 2” x 3” polypropylene-based plastic chips were selected from a wide range of relevant “real-world” colors that display an excellent coverage of color space.

Each plastic chip is quality controlled to a tolerance of ΔE 0.5 CMC 2:1 in D65 light to provide unrivaled color consistency from lot to lot and chip to chip. Furthermore, a master electronic standard (.qtx) file and a pigment recipe are available with each CSI plastic color in the library.As additional services; the polypropylene-based plastic library colors can be reproduced onto other substrates such as ABS, High Density Polyethylene, High Impact Polystyrene, PMMA-Acrylic, Polyethylene, Polycarbonate and Thermo Plastic Rubber; or custom colors can be formulated on any of these substrates to meet exact color matching requirements.
